World Wide Knit in Public

Thank you so much to everyone who came out into the sunshine last Saturday to
join us knitting in public at "World Wide Knit In Public Day 2011".  The sun made a very welcome appearance as we all gathered in the Westbury Gardens in Bradford-on-Avon.

Our youngest knitter was a 5 year old who was really on her way to the swimming pool, we
managed to divert her and she was very happy to sit with Miss Elle to learn the
basics all the way up to our most experience knitter Sheila, whose age I am, of
course, not at liberty to disclose!

There were some beautiful projects on the go, ranging from tea cosies to shawls.  Naturally
Miss Elle was sporting her very stunning Veil of Isis, she also did a spot of drop
spinning along with Helen (KnitCave) impressing all!

We managed to persuade people to come from beyond the Bradford-on-Avon boundaries,
Bridgwater, Bath, Corsham and even Australia - not bad for our first event!  Miss Elle, Eleni and Knit Cave
have posted some photos over on their blogs, do take a peek.

I just wanted to say an extra thank you to Caroline who appeared with perfect timing to rescue me
wrestling banners and gazebo - I was so very pleased to see you!
